This is the first Sherline model 2000 that has been retrofitted by GriffTek for a customer. While it uses the standard Sherline retrofit kit, the new Z-axis configuration posed a new challenge for the optional counter balance system. Sherline has also changed their design slightly to make the X and Y-axis backlash adjustment easier, which necessitated a design change to the optional enhanced lead screw, nuts and backlash adjusters.
