We have this Sunset Swings 460GN and it weights over 500
lbs. and is difficult to move. I have been working hard to get just about
everything on the patio on wheels so I figured I’d just make some dollies
to move the swing around when necessary.

This is
the 3d model I came up with that allows the swing leg foot pad to sit
inside the dollie. I added some holes around the periphery just in case I
needed a way to secure it to the foot pad so it can’t fall off. This is
accomplished by threading in some 3/8-16 bolts to act as locking pins to
retain the dollie.

I do not intend to use the swing with the dollies
attached but I did provide some water drainage channels and escape holes
just in case it gets wet while the wheels are on the swing.

I
created a counter bored bolt hole with a hex shape for the bolt head. I
went this route instead of threading the plastic part as I figured it would
have more strength. I used Nyloc style nuts to ensure trouble free service.

Here is
the swing sitting on the casters. I needed help lifting the swing to
install the wheels but can easily move it by myself.

The dollie is very stable, I don’t think I needed to
make it as deep as I did. On flat ground, it will not require the bolts
around the periphery to keep it from falling off.

Once I
have the swing in position, I didn’t want to have the steel feet sitting
directly on the pavers as I don’t want to have any rust stains. I designed
and printed these nylon foot pads with drainage / ventilation holes that
friction fit onto the foot pads.

I
designed in these small friction fit ramps along the inside wall to lock
the foot pads to the metal foot pads on the swing. They work quite nicely
and can easily be removed to put the wheels on.
If I
were doing it again, I would have made the wheels fit while the foot pads
were installed so that you don’t have to remove them!
