The
demo crew started at about 10 am Tuesday morning. I arrived at just after
one and this was the view I was greeted with through the front door.
The
insulation from the attic was nearly 18 inches deep in some areas!

The Kitchen had been
gutted previously by the former contractor . You can see the beam which
was installed when they removed
the wall.
|

This
is the living room ceiling, I believe those are 2x8 ceiling joists.

the materials they removed had been cleaned up and hauled away. They will
return tomorrow to finish the rest of the demo.

Here on
the left
you
can see the new beam installed by the first contractor and on the right
an existing beam which we will remove and replace with one about 20ft
long so we can remove the closet area and the new beam on the left. This
will completely open up the space between the entry, kitchen and living
room.
