This was the design of the first platform for the Costco sheds.
This worked very well but was time consuming doing all the blocking. The
beams and sides went together very rapidly so I decided to replace the
majority of the blocking with beams made from 2x6 and 2x4 while the wheel
support beams remained 2x10 and 2x4s. This sped up the process
considerably.

Here you can see the platform with
the top ¾ Structural 1 plywood and all of the blocking screwed together
waiting for the bottom ½” Structural 1 plywood to be screwed on. I also
used Liquid Nails sub floor adhesive on the sheeting o increase strength
and seal the seams.

All of the platforms were given
a liberal soaking in wood preservative called copper green. I used the
brown version of the chemical which after sitting in the sun for a day
turns green anyways….
This is supposed to prevent wood
rot and keep the wood eating insects away!

I also
installed some wood eyelets that allow some rope handles to be easily
attached to facilitate moving the loaded platforms around.
I am also
working on a motorized power caster design using a dc motor and gear box
to allow moving the platforms without hurting my back!

These
are some 3d printed sls bumpers that keep the platforms positioned the
correct amount off the wall and between the sheds. They are attached with
some 4” long ½” lag bolts. They are made of sintered nylon and are very
manly and should hold up well over time!

Here is a shot of all the sheds
lined up in place.
…Sher Row!
|
|
At this point 3 of the 4 sheds
are probably more than 50% loaded and one is still empty. I was able to
move them up the slight incline by myself to pressure wash the deck.
The debris seen in this photo is
what has been washed from the entire deck prior to moving the sheds up
towards the house for final cleaning.
The slot drain at the end of the
deck was clogged up with sand and leaves at this point and not allowing the
water to drain very rapidly. Cleaning the drain solved this problem. The
4400 PSI Honda pressure washer makes short work of cleaning the deck!

All
cleaned up and drained. The sun had set at this point and the camera flash sint bright enough to take a very good photo.
